Question No. 14
M: Something’s wrong with the printer.
W: What’s the matter?
M: I turned it on and tried to print my essay, but nothing happened.
W: Is it connected to your computer?
M: Yes, it is. Oh, we have to put some paper in it.
W: I guess we should have checked that first.
Question No. 15
M: Is that a new cell phone?
W: Yeah. Look at the big screen!
M: Why do you need another new phone?
W: I have to keep up with all the latest functions! You should get one, too!
M: No thanks. All I need is a phone that dials and rings.
Question No. 16
W: Do you have this style of jacket in size 11?
M: I’m afraid there aren’t any brown ones left in that size. But we have this red one.
W: Umm…it’s too bright for me.
M: More brown ones are coming in next Monday.
W: Elevens, too? OK, I’ll come back on Monday.
Questions No. 17 to 19
W: What are you looking at?
M: This is interesting. Look how many international students come from China!
W: Yeah, more than 60 percent.
M: Wow, 75 percent of international students are from China and South Korea. That must be because they’re so close to Japan.
W: Well, that can’t explain everything, because only about four percent come from Taiwan. And Russia isn’t far from Japan either, but less than one percent come from there. Almost the same number as from the UK and Canada.
M: Wait. Only 1.7 percent from the USA?
W: I guess so. The same percentage come from Malaysia. And Thailand too.
M: Hmm. But if we look at the actual numbers, the US sends the fewest of the three.
W: Yeah. We haven’t met many students from those countries, have we?
M: Why don’t we plan an international student party this month? Then we can all get to know each other better.
W: That’s a great idea!
